Unusual menu, well prepared food. Good to be open on Monday lunchtime. Disabled parking spaces few and insufficient access to sides.

Two rarities here which kind of balance each other out. This is a fantastic venue. 12.50 for a pint of Tim Taylor and a Pinot is too much. The Beer was off. But it was exchanged without question. The meal. Great starters. Not only did we get served the wrong mains but when exchanged for the correct meal it was very poor indeed. But again. No questions asked. The management cancelled the bill. Bravo!

Possibly my no.1 most favourite pub in the cotswolds. The food is exquisite and the service is polite, timely and bubbly. High standards come at a price worth paying.

We came for a romantic night away. We stayed in room 5 which is an original room above the pub. Real historic feel but with modern twists like a jacuzzi bath. Little things like antique books on Oxford colleges were nice touches .Good quality tea and coffee in the room with real milk available from downstairs. Everything felt like really good quality. The pub is a real rustic country Inn with an open fire. Historical bar and furniture. Open fire in the bar. We came on a Sunday so had their Sunday roast. Best roast dinner I've ever had. Lamb fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. Veg was tasty and well prepared. Desert was fantastic. All very reasonably priced for the excellent quality .Staff were busy but still really friendly. All in all a fantastic little pub with awesome food and good quality rooms. Will most definitely come again. Pay a bit more and get a LOT more.

Unique place to stay and eat outside Oxford. The staff felt like family, the late dinner at the bar was excellent, and so was the included breakfast - pancakes for the kids, and salmon & avocado on toast on toast with a poached egg for us. All tasted very good, obviously prepared with high quality ingredients. The family room was at the top floor, the lack of an elevator proved not to be a problem thanks to the helpful staff who carried up our large suitcase. The room felt like a small kingdom, the bed was comfortable, but the best part was the shower. The whole place felt like the prancing pony from the Hobbit, but a bright, sunny, friendly one at that.
